Texas took the wheel. One car. Two artists. Houston made the call.

Stop two of the Carrera Drive Your Story Tour rolled into Discovery Green on a picture-perfect Saturday — clear Texas sky, downtown Houston as the backdrop, Astros in town for a Home Game down the road, and a vintage '79 Corvette parked at the center of it all. The matchup: Austin's Best Muralist coming to town to face a Pasadena, TX hometown talent.

On one side: @zuzubee — Austin's Best Muralist 2021–2025, on her Spraycation Mural Tour — going hot pink with splatter, sparkle, and the Houston skyline. On the other: @mendoza.creates — self-taught, Pasadena, TX — going pop-comic with bold portraits and a bold Hero Frame painted right into the design. The crowd at Discovery Green showed up.

Our editorial media partner Highsnobiety was on the ground again, this time with local talent Jorgey capturing the day. He took us through day, heading to his shop before arriving at the event, where he walked the crowd through the artists' progress in real time, kept the voting urgency alive, and made sure every person who walked in knew exactly what they were standing in the middle of.

THE DAY AT THE PARK

Houston gave us a perfect Saturday — clear sky, easy breeze, and one of the city's best urban parks as our stage. Discovery Green delivered exactly the kind of energy this tour was built for.

THE SETTING

Discovery Green's open lawns and downtown skyline gave the Corvette a stage that felt both iconic and unmistakably Houston. The car sat at the heart of the park, drawing crowds in from every direction.

THE '79 CORVETTE

The same vintage Stingray that made its debut in Miami arrived in Houston.

THE SS26 BOOTH

Carrera's Spring/Summer 2026 collection on full display — guests tried on the latest frames and saw firsthand the design language that's defined 70 years of the brand.

THE CROWD

A real Houston turnout — families, students from the local art scene, design heads, and longtime fans of the brand. The energy around the canvas didn't let up all afternoon.
